Practice for Self-realisation?

Just something which comes up.

One often finds devotees want to gain self-realisation and they make much effort

for that, whatever they think self-realisation may be.

There is often some misunderstanding connected with this term and idea of

" self-realisation " , if one imagines that one may get something new from

practice.

But it is more the contrary - one gets rid of something through the practice -

i.e. the ego. Practice is not to become self-realised, but to get rid of the ego

- it is a kind of becoming poor, rid of egoistic wishes, simple, un-complicated

..... So the term " self-realisation " can be rather tricky and misleading if

understood the wrong way.

" Who am I? " - i.e. the return to the source of the individual I - not an

awareness of awareness btw! - brings the personal I to an end. It needs to be

done again and again - in all situations, with everything. Not easy to stick to

it always - but it can ripen gradually, I am sure and trust in.

Kind regards

Gabriele
