Guest guest
Dear Sundar, Here is a reply to your request. Ramana said once that even an Atheist could accept hs Teaching because he knows that he exists. So in a sense it starts from there. For me this is a form of meditation. It goes something like this: I am here now, I actually exist, here , now, alive, fully conscious at this moment (said internally while focusing on an object f beauty such as aTree or the sky) . Then consciousness rises more intensely through the sight, and one feels it is perhaps an intimation of the Self. It only lasts as long as this focus on the sense of existence or I am ness is held. It is an effort because the intensity wanes back to its normal attenuated level. if the attention is dropped. My caveat is that this practice is for us ajnanis, overlaid on the I Thought and until the I Thought is removed - or its vasanas- through Self Enquiry, Surrender and Grace, we are still living in chidabhasa or from reflected consciousness. But this meditation is a taste of a more intense consciousness and an intimitation of what experience of the Self might be like if it was greatly magnified by removing one's egotism through sadhana. All best wishes and love, Yours in Bhagavan, Alan --- On Wed, 24/6/09, Sundararajan <sundar22ca wrote: Sundararajan <sundar22ca Re: Discourses on Ramana Wednesday, 24 June, 2009, 3:47 AM Alan, You are right. There are a number of audio files of Nochur's discourses in the web. I would find it interesting to listen to the experiences of people who have tried to focus on this 'Unarvu' (sense of existence or being). Any tricks on achieving this focus, without getting distracted by general thoughts or on the 'I thought' or on the 'sense of individual being'. He is in his late thirties, married with a young son. He equates the experience of 'naan irukkaen endra unarvu' (or the awareness that I exist) to the experience of the Self. As such, he recommends intense attention on this sense of existence, which we all possess, can not deny and yet pay little attention to. > > Sri Nochur's delivery in Tamil (with recitations of relevant Sanskrit passages) is very effortless and in this, he appears to be definitely gifted. Though he gives discourse on some of Adi Sankara's works, he seems to enjoy Ulladu Narpadu of Sri Ramana the most. > > If anyone has more the add about Sri Nochur, please do so. > sundar >
