A VERSE FOR THE ODE TO LIBERTY

Percy Bysshe Shelley

Within a cavern of man's trackless spirit

Is throned an Image so intensely fair

Thast the adventurous thoughts that wander near it

Worship, and as they kneel, tremnble and wear

The splendour of its presence, and the light

Penetrates their dreamlike frame

Till they became charged with the strength of flame.

This verse was never included in the Ode, but printed in his Collected Works. It

was read to Bhagavan who said that to write this, he must have experienced it.
