Guest guest
A very lovely and interesting story from Srimad Bhagavatham , a treasure house of wisdom.. I will just make it very short...Once upon a time there lived a King who ruled his subjects very fairly and wisely. He was a great devotee of the Lord . When his son reached manhood , he handed over his throne and responsibilities to him , renounced all his wealth , family and relations . He went to the forest to perform tapas. So intense was his tapas that in no time he evolved to the brink of realisation.. Here is where Maya intervened.. There were heavy rains in the forest and the river started flooding . The King ( now a saint ) was distracted for a moment , opened his eyes and with great compassion looked at a fawn which was struggling to survive the overflowing river..Immediately we rescued it , attended to it very patiently , fed it and the fawn stayed back with him..Everyday it became his business to feed the fawn and nurse it back to normalcy ..Once it regained strength , he should have allowed it to go.. But by then he became very attached to it and could not let it go..The time came when he had to die and the last thought before his death was not Lord Narayana , but the image of the fawn ! Needless to say , he had to be born again and he was born as a fawn !!!Draw your own conclusions , please....
Guest guest
dear sir, do you mean that if you live a life of a king, and later on as a saint but just before at the time of death you have the thought of a fawn, you ll be born as shrimp? this is weird. besides who is there to be born again? nothing or no one but your own speculations that others might believe too. , ramesh chivukula <ramesh_chiv wrote: > > > A very lovely and interesting story from Srimad Bhagavatham , a treasure house of wisdom..
