Guest guest
Excellent Alan. Very true. Bhagawan Sri Ramana Maharshi said the same that Advaita is an internal matter and outwardly, one's behaviour must conform with the best standards of the society.P. Guest guest
I´m sure Bhagawan Sri Ramana Maharshi said this for a good reason to a certain person in a certain context. As i understand the core of his- and others- teachings ultimately there is no internal and outwardly matters, since this would be a dualistic concept, right? So why focus on something that is an illusion. What " I " - or " we " needs to behave and confirm? In my own personal experience i found the best place for my ego and mind to be is with " I am " , " yo soy " , ich bin, je suis, nothing else and leave the rest to happen by itself. In phases where the clouds of illusion are thin and almost translucent and i´m safe in the arms of I AM and " I " hardly exists, my work gets done automatically, much better than during times when " I " try to do my work well and try to " conform with the best standards of the society " . love all-ways nobody 2009/9/4 Gopi Krishna <p_gopi_krishna: > > > Excellent Alan. Guest guest
Dear Michaela, Reading what you have to say carefully, I am sure your approach is a correct one for a relatively mature devotee like yourself. The simple instruction he gave was most likely for students in the early satge of absorbing his Teaching. I am, Self identity Is a donkey. Mind, name, form, feelings Emotions, cravings, hopes and fears All included… merely an ass. We all are donkeys, whether considered most intelligent And revered as such Or regarded as the dumbest of the dumb… No different from plain asses – Likewise subject to birth, growth, decay and death. But the remember, friend, Lucky seeker after truth, That the master, the all pervading Nameless self Is boundless and beyond time. Peerless ghost rider Directing and guiding all donkeys, The herd owner and sustainer Is the same resplendent one and only, Birth-less and deathless reality. There is no other. So Wake up from dreams of selfhood, oh fortunate! Friend of bright prospects, Enjoy the frolics Of the dead donkey – While there is time. in love, yosy (no one in particular) nnb > 2009/9/4 Gopi Krishna <p_gopi_krishna: > > > > > > Excellent Alan.
