•The most blessed event, the lighting of the most divine Arunachala Karthigai Deepa Jyoti flame at the peak of the Arunachala Hill, is scheduled to occur at 6 p.m. Indian Standard Time, Full Moon day on December 1, 2009.

•The Great Thiru Karthigai Deepam Festival itself begins on November 22, 2009 and lasts through December 1, 2009. •The time when the Arunachala Jyoti is lit is the most potent, most spiritual time during each year. So we request everyone everywhere, wherever you may be, to immerse and dissolve your mind in the Lord's divine grace during the 30 minutes centered around this time, that is, 5:45 p.m. IST to 6:15 p.m. IST on December 1, 2009.
