Dear Alan

Many thanks. An interesting read.

The article interview with a person called Gred Goode it seems mis-represents

the " progressive path " - I quote:

" Q. You offer a `Direct Path' style of approach in the meetings that you give

and the teachings that you offer. What exactly does that mean and how is it

different from other types of approaches?

A. The Direct Path is in contrast to a `progressive path' that says you need to

get nearer and nearer and nearer the goal. The Direct Path starts you out at the

finish. You already stand as truth, love, knowledge, awareness (the same thing

by different names). If you have doubts or questions, you can resolve them by

directly investigating your experience. When you do, you find that your stand as

awareness is confirmed at every moment. "

As we all know, Sri Ramana always taught that our true nature is the Self and

nothing else, always and already. This seems to have been over looked by most

modern day Neo-advaitins who simply dislike practice and are not open to

recognise that it works to realise that which is already.

But some such teachers have now revised their initial view and recognise that

there can be stages of realization where illusion falls away in stages, pieces

or layers.

Namaste

Raphael
