Guest guest
THE ESSENCE OF RIBHU GITAThe following verses constitute the teachings of Siva to Ribhu, who in turn transmits those teachings to his disciple Nidhaga Rishi. The treatise goes by the name Ribhu Gita. The sine qua non of Mukti is Siva's grace36. That in which the whole universe is born and intowhich it is absorbed in dissolution, is the Siva-Self. Devotedworship of and meditation on that Siva-Self of pureConsciousness alone will attract Siva's Grace, which isindispensable for liberation. (Ch.19, v.60)37. Those engaged in the pursuit of knowledge of theBrahman-Self, happening to get involved in the mundanepleasures of sex, should regard such pleasures as merely faintshadows of the bliss of the Self. They should never even dreamof worldly pleasures. (Ch.20, v.45)38. As the Self is Sat, meditative contact with the Self isthe true Sat Sanga (association with sadhus who abide in theSelf ). As Brahman-Self is the highest, association with the Self isMahat Sanga (highest association). (Ch.21, v.28)
