Guest guest
Dear Peter - I have just printed out Page 1 of the notebook. I like it!!!. Thanks. I did not understand Note 4 which starts House A shows the Karkatva...... I couldn't make sense of it perhaps you could explain. By the way I assume that Karkatva and Karaka mean the same. Here is the note: House A shows the Karkatva or the "responding planet". The house that indicates having the Karkatva for any event also indicates the end of that particular thing. The way I understand to be, there is a very subtle difference between the Karkatva and the Karaka. For example lets's take the 5th house of the child as the focus for the B House. If we count 8 houses away from the 5th to see the KARAKA, then we arrive at House A. Now in order to see the "subset" of the Karaka, which is the KARKATVA of House A, we again have to go another 8 houses away from House A and THAT house will show us the ending of that particular matter. We can also do the same thing by just counting 3 houses away from the 5th in order to come to the karkatva for the death of a child or the ending of that matter instead of counting all the way around the chart the other way. If I am wrong here, Krushna, please clarify this so as to make it clear for the rest of us. Thanks - Donna
Guest guest
Dear Donna, Peterji, There is difference in Karkatva and karak. Karakatva is action, and karak means planet doing it. Karakatva for any event goes to the 8th house from any house, and karak is lord of that house, and planets residing in that house with more points. Guest guest
Donna, Now I'm just more confused. My Vedic astroloical dictionary gives them both the same meaning. Note 4 I did have the note exactly as you wrote it - I just can't make sense of it. What do you mean when you say " The house that indicates having the Karkatva for any event....." When you say "the house that indicates having the Karkatva" do you mean the house that contains the Karkatva, in this case would it be the ruler of A???. Guest guest
Thaks Krushna, The difference between Karaka and Karkatva is now much clearer. I am still a bit unsure ofhow to apply this but I'm sure it will become clearer with practise. Respectfully, Peter
Guest guest
Respected Peterji, Eight house from any house is denoting the karakatva for the house. A house is 8th house from B house, So house A indicates the karkatva for the event shown by house B. The Lord of the house A is called as Karak. Its strength indicates about the happiness of the result denoted from house B. Planets residing in house A with more points also acts as Karak. Guest guest
Dear Swee, Kar = maker, doer etc. Karkava = Act, Action, Power Karak here used for Respondent. Significator May be used for maker of the meaning, Sujjestor, Indicator. Yes most commonly, the word 'Karak' is used for Significator. krushna , " Swee Chan " <swee@c...> wrote: > Dear Peter, > > Karatwa = Lordship > Karaka = Significator. > > Hope this helps, > > Swee > .
