Guest guest
Hello, What do you exactly call a " benefic " and a " malefic " planet? Is a malefic afflicting the native (giving suffering to him) or his chart? Let us suppose a benedictine monk. He doesn't want to be married. So: * Will a malefic planet indicating celibacy be malefic for the house of marriage, not for him? OR * Will a malefic planet afflicting the house of marriage will give suffering in another way? So, do you mean " benefic " and " malefic " in an objective (description of the life) or subjective (pleasure and suffering) way? Thanks a lot for your lights Denis
Guest guest
Hello Denis, Wellcome to the list. As to benefic and malefics, I think you have to reason along the lines of the system you are using. In AV system benefic or malefic is considered according to the number of points the planet has for a certain location or its sight. If Jupiter has 8 points he is "benefic" for the place he is situated and "malefic" for the houses/planets he aspects. If he has only 2 points he will not bring "benefic" results for the place he is situated but the houses or planets he aspects will gain 6 "benefic"points. I think the most important thing to understand the system is to empty your mind and look at things in a new and different way. Once you master and understand this new way of "seeing" you can integrate what you have kept aside. But it's important to forget temporarily aubout the "quality" of the planets, look at the "quantity" of points they get. After having acquired this new look you can let your former knowledge seep in and you will see that AV system has "upgraded" your astrological knowledge in a substancial way. So don't think about monks and celibacy when you look at a planet, (that's quality)consider it only by the number of point it gets and for which houses it then can give results. Well, that's only my opinion of course but that how it worked for me. Guest guest
Dear Denis, In my opinion, it should be indicated in the chart, for unmarrital state. No planet should give more then 12 points, or some other combinations. For more details I thing Krushnaji will give his opinion.
