Guest guest
Dear List, My apologies if this question has already been asked and answered, but I couldn't find reference to it in the archives. My understanding is that the ayanamsha in use here begins with a zodiacal alignment on Feb 24th 366 A.D., and has a precessional speed of 50.33 seconds per year. Right? Do we therefore need to manually accommodate the missing dates from the Gregorian calendar? For those who aren't aware of it, the calendar was adjusted in October 1582 so that October 4th was followed immediately by October 15th. Thus, 10 days were removed from the calendar. Therefore, if we don't manually adjust the ayanamsha (because no software does), we will be off by 503.3 seconds, or 8 minutes and 23.3 seconds. Guest guest
Dear List, BTW, if these missing dates have not already been accommodated, I believe you can simply change the ayanamsha start date in your software from Feb 24th 366 to March 7th 366. This will make the calculations correct for all birth charts after October 4th 1582. Otherwise, you will have to not only manually correct the rasi, but the divisional charts, vimshottari dasa, etc. Just a suggestion. Guest guest
Dear Ron, I was unable to get excess to internet from 23rd due to some fault in telephone lines. My numbers starting with 45... , where not able to get excess, still the problem is there. To day I have tried with my other numbers 44... , and got connected. I will have problem, till the line gets repaired. The difference of 10 days will make a difference of only 1.30 seconds. In the hand written book the chart of the zero ayanansha is given, and speed is also not constant. At present the average speed is 50.33. Which we are accepting reasonable for easy calculation purpose. The difference in Vishontary dasha in any case will not be more then 6to 7 days. Which I think is very reasonable. The difference you have given may be for 10 years. 50.33 X 10 years = 503.3) Thanks krushna , rongrimes@s... wrote: > Dear List, > > My apologies if this question has already been asked and answered, > but I couldn't find reference to it in the archives. > > My understanding is that the ayanamsha in use here begins with a > zodiacal alignment on Feb 24th 366 A.D., and has a precessional speed > of 50.33 seconds per year.
