Guest guest
Pranam Krushnaji and list members, Hope that All's well. I have been going through the first few lessons and I have a question that has been nagging me for a while now. It is on the lesson of Aspects of Malefic and Benefic's as per Ashtavarga Analysis. My thoughts : Assume a planet is Benefic eg. Jupiter (with 5 points) placed in a house. It casts it graha dristi with malefic of -5 *EACH* to 5th, 7th and 9th houses from where it is placed. It is only benefic of +5 to the house it is situated in and malefic to the house it is situated in with 8-5 = 3 rekhas. This is where I get confused. We say that Jupiter because it has 5 points is a benefic - I agree Jupiter is malefic to the house it is situated with 3 rekhas - I agree Now, Since Jupiter is benefic with 5 points its casting malefic dristi of -5 *EACH* to 3 houses and it is malefic with -3 to the house it is placed in assuming Jupiter is getting 5 points. So basically 3 houses suffer + the house it is situated in get some malificance of 8-5 = 3 points hence not making it 100% benefic even for the house it is placed in. So shouldnt that make Jupiter more malefic than benefic in the overall sense. If jupiter were to cast a dristi of -5 points to 3 houses it cast its graha dristi on then that becomes -15 points divided into 3 houses, plus -3 points for the house it is in. There by making it -18. So basically Jupiter if it were to receive 5 points would cast a dristi of -18 and a + of 5 points. Based on the above factor, shouldnt one then expect that a planet with lesser points is more beneficial as it would affect 3 houses with positive dristi, be malefic to the house it is placed in, thereby making it 75% beneficial and 25% malefic. Could you please clarify my thought process and where am I going wrong in understanding this concept, I would really appreciate it. Even the more experienced members of this list can help me out here as I am very keen to understand the fundamentals of this system. One last quick question. In the above example, Jupiter with 5 points, does it cast malefic aspect of -5 and share it on the 3 houses it has graha dristi on. i.e -1.66 to each house or is it -5 to each house it has its sight on ? Thanking you all for your patience, Cheers !!! Ash
Guest guest
Dear Ash My comments in Capital: > My thoughts : > > Assume a planet is Benefic eg. Jupiter (with 5 points) placed in a > house. It casts it graha dristi with malefic of -5 *EACH* to 5th, > 7th and 9th houses from where it is placed. It is only benefic of +5 > to the house it is situated in and malefic to the house it is > situated in with 8-5 = 3 rekhas. YOU ARE CORRECT UP TILL NOW. WE CONSIDER ONLY BENEFIC POINTS. WE DO NOT CONSIDER MALEFIC POINTS. > > This is where I get confused. > > We say that Jupiter because it has 5 points is a benefic - I agree > Jupiter is malefic to the house it is situated with 3 rekhas - I agree. WE SHOULD CONSIDER ONLY BENEFIC. ANY PLANET GETTING 5 POINTS MEANS IT HAVE GOR FAVOR FROM 5 PLANETS, AND THREE PLANETS ARE NOT FAVORING IT. aS MORE PLANETS ARE IN FAVOR, THEN IT HAVE GOT GOOD STRENGTH, TO ACT. sO IT WILL GIVE BENEFIC RESULT FOR THE HOUSE IT IS SITUATED. > > Now, Since Jupiter is benefic with 5 points its casting malefic > dristi of -5 *EACH* to 3 houses and it is malefic with -3 to the > house it is placed in assuming Jupiter is getting 5 points. iF YOU CONSIDER THE BENEFIC AND MALEFIC BOTH AT A TIME, THEN BENEFIC 5 LESS MALEFIC 3 , STILL THE PLANET WILL BE BENEFIC FOR THE PLACE IT IS SITUATED. > > So basically 3 houses suffer + the house it is situated in get some > malificance of 8-5 = 3 points hence not making it 100% benefic even > for the house it is placed in. eXPLAINED ABOVE. > > So shouldnt that make Jupiter more malefic than benefic in the > overall sense. NO ONLY IT WILL GIVE MALEFIC EFFECT FOR THE HOUSE HAVING IT'S SIGHT, AND BENEFIC EFFECT FOR THE HOUSE IT IS SITUATED. > > If jupiter were to cast a dristi of -5 points to 3 houses it cast its > graha dristi on then that becomes -15 points divided into 3 houses, > plus -3 points for the house it is in. > There by making it -18. So basically Jupiter if it were to receive 5 > points would cast a dristi of -18 and a + of 5 points. iF YOU CONSIDER ONLY ONE SIDE IT WILL NOT CONFUSE YOU. ( IF A GLASS IS FILLED HALF, IT MEANS IT IS EMPTY HALF. IT IS ASSUMED. IF YOU WILL SAY IT HALF EMPTY, AND HALF FULL SO THE TOTAL IS NIL. +1/2 -1/2 = ZERO. ) > > Based on the above factor, shouldnt one then expect that a planet > with lesser points is more beneficial as it would affect 3 houses > with positive dristi, be malefic to the house it is placed in, > thereby making it 75% beneficial and 25% malefic. > > Could you please clarify my thought process and where am I going > wrong in understanding this concept, I would really appreciate it. > > Even the more experienced members of this list can help me out here > as I am very keen to understand the fundamentals of this system. > > > One last quick question. > In the above example, Jupiter with 5 points, does it cast malefic > aspect of -5 and share it on the 3 houses it has graha dristi on. > i.e -1.66 to each house or is it -5 to each house it has its sight > on ? sO AS PER YOUR CALCULATIONS THE HALF FILLED SHOULD BE TREATED AS EMPTY. .....KRUSHNA > Thanking you all for your patience, > Cheers !!! > Ash
