I am studying this interesting system too, and perform calculation by hand (this is usefull to grasp the technique) and following instruction by Patel's book Ashtakavarga Sagar Publication. I know there are some other books related to the matter: have you them? Here on this list we follow the distribution of BAV as taught by Varharamira. Sanjay has created a wonderful spread sheet created which you can use as an aid for calculations, which we refer to and which has these computations. You can download them from the file section.
