As I didn't seem to have a problem I give you is my reasoning For death mainlord must be somehow related to the 3th house or lord of A We find mainlord Sun in A, so this is OK for the main lord FK for the 8th is Jupiter he is in Saturn's sign so becomes samdharmi to Saturn. Jupiter is in D , in the fifth and has 7 points there. There is a rule that states that death often happens during sub of lords of 1st and 5th (houses D and E for the 8th) or during periods of planets having more points in these houses. So here Jupiter is acting as samdharmi to Saturn, Jupiter's dasha comes first and like Krushna said " the first who comes, takes it " . As to the transit this was like you rightly stated in Mars/ketu. Mars has nothing to do here but Ketu is in nakshatra of Jupiter, so there Jupiter shows himself again because ketu becomes samdharmi to Jupiter.So transit of Sun in Ketu is OK. Well this is how I saw it. Of course I don't know if I should have guessed it right if I had to found the date, but as it was given, I think it fits nicely.
