I had some basic queries about the ashtakavarga system. Here they are:

 

1. The aspect of a benefic (one having more than 4 points in AV)

planet is considered to be malefic. In this scenario, what if this

particular planet is in debility..like say mars in cancer. Would its

aspect on its exaltation sign yield detrimental effects?? on the same

lines, since it has more than 4 points in AV in its debility sign,

should it be assumed that it would still yield good results in its

house of placement (irrespective of debility)??

 

2. Going by the same notion, I have saturn in cancer with 2 points.

Obviously, its a malefic. It aspects its own sign capricorn. This

aspect has to be benefic with 6 points? True? It also aspects lagna

(aries) ..which is its sign of debility. So , should i conclude that

this aspect on its sign of debility is in fact positive (+ 6 points)?

 

3. When considering Ashtakavarga, should the overall number (as

calculated by the algorithm presented on this site) be used? or

should only the individual score be considered? My guess is that the

overall score is what would work. Nevertheless, expecting a reply to

this query as well.

 

I would very much appreciate a reply to the above queries. It would

really help me in unraveling numerous mysteries.
