Guest guest Posted September 7, 2003 Report Share Posted September 7, 2003 Dear Krushna and listmembers, I was recently re-reading lesson 26 on the multiplicative factor which can be attributed to planets and may amplify (or diminish) their score for the quality of results. I was wondering what the reasoning for the value of this factor could be. Here are a few things that I noticed: - every planet in its own sign gets an increase of +0.2 in its strength factor; - every planet in its mulatrikona gets + 0.2 - every planet in its exaltation sign gets +0.2 - every planet in the sign of a friend gets +0.2 On the other hand - every planet in its debilitation sign loses 0.2 - every planet in the sign of an enemy loses 0.5 - if in the sign of an enemy and in its debilitation sign the planet loses 0.6 I think this reasoning explanes all the strength factors except that of the Sun in Capricorn which is 0.4 and would be 0.5. Is there some teaching of Krushna on this point in the archives ? Any help to understand would be welcome. Sorry if I'm rising a point already discussed. I did not have any concrete answer either. Some things I noticed for Multiplication Factor For Sun -------- Exaltation Sign = 1.4 Mool Trikon = 1.4 Own Sign = 1.4 Debilitation Sign = 0.4 However even for Sun in Capricorn we have to multiply by 0.4 just like for debilitation ?? Even for Aquarius we multiply by 0.5. A1)mars in cancer,that time moon in scorpio. in A the results should be better than A1 since moon is UCHHA in taurus and neecha in scorpio. B)shani in aries,that time mars in capricon B1)shani in aries, that time mars in cancer. C)cancer-jupiter, that time moon in taurus C1)cancer-jupiter,that time moon in scorpio. Please study Lesson 1 carefully and try to understand what are we seeing from BAV of the chart. Then we derive SAV. From that you will understand how these things are all automatically taken care of. The lesson 26 if you also read carefully deals with the " quality " and it has got nothing to do with the timing. For exampe you have said Mars is in CAncer and Moon is in Taurus. These are only 2 planets. If you study BAV carefully firstly you will need the lagna. The you will distribute the points. When one does that it automatically covers the relative positioning of planets. And by the time u reach SAV from BAV you have not only covered the distribution of points for each planet but also planets in relation to planets. That in itself is the beauty of Ashtakavarga where one does not have to relate and remember so many yogas individually. Things like 4:10 and special yogs like Venus in nakshatra of krittika, aadra, Moola and jayeshta, Venus to Sun distance < 3 degrees or > 43 degress etc are convered seperately. That is why you will not find any references to yogas in this system as such. Things like Anapha yog, Sunapha yog, Gaj kesari yog etc etc are all automatically considered. If you dwelve deeper into this system you will also see that we also need not consider parivartans seperately. These all things get covered automatically in worksheet and with multiplication factor. This you will find in a good book on astrology. We are happy to have good programmers/astrologers who made programs to make this eightfold distribution of points so easy.
