If Guru aspects Shani then he can check the delay to Moderate. 10th house is for getting Authority. What you have said about starting working is to be seen from 6th house. That is for getting job. With respect to 6/8/12 exchanges are covered indirectly. For sign placement u refer to Multiplication Factor that is to see Quantum. That is not used for timing of results. My sani in 8th aspecting 10th house. However, I started working/professional life at the age of 20 years. So here it did not delay the resultant. I fact, my chart...has much more to do with 6/8/12 exchange and rahu/ketu axis with yogagraha (so making them yogakaraka). And many of the odds are to be seen from that angle. Now if 10th i not seen for working, then will 7th house be the major house for work. coming to my chart, while in my second job (june 1988 onwards), I was executive asst to chairman and enjoyed quite a responsibility and authority. Then, in my own management consulting work (started in 1991 November)..esp from 1993, I had tremendous authority over my clients and the external parties, i was delaing with (mostly high profiled clients). may be this was due to venus being 10th lord, exalted in 8th. For that you can study the points that planet is giving in that antra to 10th house. This is for responsibility and authority only. For Job, please study 6th house as B.
