When Rahu and Ketu are in mutual reception

Dear Ash, Margarita, Krushna -

Hi Guys. I was away for while, but I want to start spending more time

learning the system again and try doing practice charts. I've been keeping

up on all the posts and have gotten especially interested in the Rahu/Ketu

discussions. So. . . .

I would like to ask a question here about Rahu and Ketu. In my own chart,

I'm about to enter a Rahu Mahadasa on March 24, 2004. I'm using Krushna's

rectification of my chart here BTW since we're doing his system. For those

of you who would like to do the chart, the data is:

March 12, 1949

5:28am EST

Floral Park, NY

40n43

73w42

In my third house of Aries, Rahu is in 3 Ar 57. Therefore it will take on

the ruler of the 3rd house, Mars. It also lies in the Nakshatra of Aswini,

which is ruled by Ketu. So I then go to the opposite house where Ketu is

residing in Libra. I look at the Nakshatra that Ketu is in and see that it

is in Chitra, also ruled by Mars. I then take the ruler of the house that

Ketu is residing in and use its ruler, Venus. My two main planets of focus

will now be Mars and Venus. Mars has 2 points and Venus has 4. Mars goes to

the 8th house (Cancer) in the Navamsa and Venus goes to the 5th house

(Aries). They lie in a 4-10 position to each other. So Venus becomes the

stronger of the two since it has more points and lies in the 10th house

position. Is this correct?

Also, what if Rahu and Ketu were in a mutual reception? For example, What if

Rahu was in 8 Ar 57 for example and Ketu was in 8 Lib 57? In this case, Rahu

would be in the nakshatra of Ketu and Ketu would be in the nakshatra of

Rahu? Would I again just then use the house rulerships only, Mars and Venus

as my main focus during this dasa period and take the stronger one as my

focus planet?

Thanks -

Donna

Dear Donna,

Glad you have joined the band wagon.

Ok in your case I will give u my understanding.

Yes, Rahu represents Mars and Venus.

Since Venus has more points than mars then Rahu will

act more like Venus. As simple as that. You do not

have go into 4:10 etc etc... Bindus of Mars and Venus

determines what will Rahu act more like.

Maybe I am reading more into it, but I will defer this

clarification to Krushnaji.

Krushnaji, here Rahu is in Mars and naks of Ketu.

Ketu = Mars and Venus.

So here

Rahu = Mars - 1 time and 1 time for Ketu and Venus.

Here Venus = 4 bindus and Mars = 2 points (but its

coming twice).

So here by virtue of bindus Rahu will act more like

Venus but by Virtue of Counting Mars is coming twice.

Can you shed some light here on how will Donnas Rahu

act, will it be more like Venus (by virtue of more

bindus) or will it act more like Mars (by virtue of

coming twice).

Thanks Donna, you chart has brought forward this

interesting question.

Cheers !!!

Ash

Well, do we have to see the 4:10 relatioship? Ash's mail did not

mention that explicitly. Ash will be able to throw some light on that.

In this case, ra (or ke) should behave similar to rulers of signs

where ra and ke are posited. Ofcourse we need to check the relative

strength of the rulers for the house where ra (or ke) is posited.

This is also a area which may cause software apps to recurse

indefinitely if we are not careful. :)

Dear Manu,

We do not have to see 4:10 for finding who is

stronger. Just the bindus for the place.

Thanks,

Cheers !!!

I think he did mention this and said that I didn't have to take it that far.

So apparently the important thing is to take the planet that has the most

bindus and use that one for the Samdharmi.
