Guest guest
Dear Krushnaji, Ash, and group In light of lesson 35 I have a few questions regarding a career pattern I am noticing in my everyday work/study. It is regarding University professors. I am curious to how we see this in a chart. They require a PhD, have very high respect in society:6th house points, make a decent salary. However, I am seeing many of them do not have much authority. They work on their own research, and teach classes. They give themselves to their students and are dedicated to their research, which they rely on external sources for funding. Funding is always a huge problem for them. One of my advising professors - a brilliant scientist, does not have enough funding for phone service in the lab!!! Then on the other hand another of my advising professors teaches and does very well with funding and supplement his income through consulting contracts. Sometimes they can make more on a single contract than their base salary from the University! In this case they are consultants, responsibility is only for getting the study done, no real authority. So how do we capture these types of patterns? Krushnaji, you have outlined Sun for fixed salary, and Moon for income through contract. How do we apply this to these scenarios? -Puneet
Guest guest
Dear Puneet, You are right, 6th house is for social status. However break things up into smaller bits. 1) To get a Phd, one must have a certain level of intellegence and good and sharp mind. So check Shanis positions in Navamsa, Drekkhana and Trimsamsa as per lesson. 2) For post graduate, that is 9th house matters. So for questions regarding timing of events then you check 9th house as B and then 4th becomes A. 4th house again is knowledge. 3) I beleive in some discussion (I think in educational lessson) the status of 9th lord, Guru and Mercury also must be ascessed. 4) If person has less authority then 10th house will be affected. Check SAV points for 10th house. So if 6th is high and 10th is low then person may have good social status howewver authority might not be there. 5) Income is again different. That you check from 11th house. Antra results u will get from WS points. 6) Now for teaching then 10th lords from lagna, moon and sun must be somehow related to Guru that again is given in lesson for finding occupation. 7) DBCE points or 3:6:10:11 are in ascending order then one may be like a dean or in very high authority in school. In this way you can analyse the chart. Hope that helps, Cheers !!! Guest guest
Hi again Ash and group, A few things that I am still confused about from your last response is judging the factors you described wrt fixed salary and contract work. Do we have to look for dual signs for 11th house? Specifically Krushnaji mentioned to see fixed salary from Sun and contract work from moon. Then there I asked for a person to have aptitude to get salary from dual/multiple sources i.e. a person works as a teacher and charges clients for research, or even better suited to this audience, you could use the example of astro consulting on the side from a job with fixed salary. So where would you look for the duality: sign moon is placed, sun, or 11th house, etc? Then would we have to take Sun and Moon and see DBCE points from each to asses it? What if it is zigzag, or one house is out of asc order? Sorry if this was already addressed. Guest guest
Dear Puneet, This has been discussed in the past. Try to do a search in the archives and see exchanges between Sanjay Jaggia and Krushnaji where some DBCE points have been discusssed. Thanking you, Cheers !!!
