Hello Ash, Margarita, Donna, and Group,

These days I am not getting a lot of time to discuss KAS on the

group. But I was developing a program to aid in learning and using

KAS. It not only allows the person to maintain a database (kind of!)

of charts but also helps in performing pattern matching to check how

many of KAS rules apply to a particular area in life.

It is by no means complete, but I want to finally release it to the

group as a open source program to interpret charts so that others can

modify and make better versions available.

My actual aim was to develop a software program that does

predictions, not just calculations. I think I was fairly successful

in doing so, but as I said a lot still needs to be done.

Here are some charts and tables from the program:

I know that some of the charts are very compact and may cause a

little confusion in the beginning.

I also added support to show how a sample lesson can be interpreted

by the software to check for patterns.

For instance, let us say that we want to check the rules for love

marriage for the concerned native.

The user just types

" love_marriage(<native's name>) "

and would get the following listing (based on the lessons):

------------------------

More Rules for a Love Marriage

The following rules indicate a few more laws that will indicate

when a native is like to have a love marriage or perhaps a marriage

with a person already known to them. (These laws are applicable in

the Indian culture and may or may not apply in the west.)

The 5th house rules " friendships. " When there is a relationship

between the 5th and the 7th house, there is a chance of a love

marriage.

There is also a chance of a love marriage when:

01) [F] The strongest significator is situated in the 5th house and

is accompanied by Rahu.

02) [F] The 7th lord is situated in the 4th place from the strongest

significator.

03) [F] Mars and Venus are in the same sign and aspected by Saturn.

04) [F] If the 7th lord is samdharmi to the Moon.

05) [F] If Jupiter and the 7th lord are in trine and each of them has

more points.

In case Ju is lord of 7th, we use relationship of Ju with 5th

lord.

06) [F] Rahu is with Mars and has less points, or Mars has more

points and is in the

sight of Saturn, who has less points. Then the marriage may

occur

in the sub period of Rahu.

07) [F] There is a conjunction of the Moon with Venus. (this may be

in the Navamsha),

which stimulates interest in the opposite sex and new

attachments or unions,

which may be formed. If Venus is the 7th lord, then this may

bring about marriage.

08) [F] Venus is in a trine in the rashi chart or the Navamsha chart.

This gives much

pleasure or brings about a love affair, a matrimonial

alliance or some type of union.

09) [F] The Sun and Venus has a difference of more than 43 degrees

and Venus is strong as well

as being aspected by Jupiter.

10) [F] The strongest significator is samdharmi to the 5th lord.

11) [?] For Aries and Scorpio natives, if Mars is powerful in the

chart.

These effects as well as previous laws on marriage in Lesson 10 can

be activated

ONLY when more than 2 laws have been fulfilled!

If Jupiter has a check on the strongest significator, then such an

event will not take place.

------------------------

The [F] indicates that the rule does not match, and a [T] would

indicate that the rule matches. [?] indicates that either I didn't

know how to code this rule or I was too lazy till the time I got to

that rule.

So, in the above case the rules indicate that love marriage is

unlikely.

I hope this feature will be useful. But as I said, this is only a

sample, and the support for other lessons needs to be added.

I need to code and test some modules, perform code cleanup and write

some sort of user's guide before I release the software to the group.

However, it would be nice to receive any suggestions to improve the

functionality.

North indian format in text mode is not as simple as south indian.

But I will neverthesless try to do something.

Thank you Ash, for the support and motivation.

Looking forward for suggestions.

Thanks & Regards,

Manu

Dear Manu,

Wow... your program is turning out to be very nice. Its a great

achievement despite your busy schedule.

You already have got the Rasi and Transit chart so by that you can

get the points of the day. I believe you also can get the Navamsa.

That itself is a very big task.

So you have Rasi/Navamsa/Transit charts in place and Samdharmis and

Vimshottari Dasha (with KAY).

Now if we can add the points and just print the points and the WS

that will be AMAZING.

Please let me know if you any help, I shall try to help you in any

way I can.

I can see that the vision of having our own program for KAS is taking

form and shape.

Very Nice,

Cheers !!!

Ash

Thanks Ash,

Currently I have added support only for rasi, navamsa and trimsamsa.

For the BAV points I have added the following chart support. It is

kind of like crude, but I will think of something better soon:

############

# Hs SA #

# .4 .1 .4 # .4 .5 .4 # .5 .4 .6 # .4 .0 .6 #

# .3 .. .. # .6 .. .. # .5 .. .. # .3 .. .. #

#############################################

For the daily points I have added support of a command

that can display a listing of daily sarva points or can dump it to a

file so that we make look at the graph in excel. It was nice to see

my yearly sarva graph shoot up when I was having a good time during

my vacation. :)

Another command that I am currently working on is 'ask_krushna'.

The user types ask_krushna(<name>, <today's date>) and gets an

analysis (as per group posts). It is based on the so very important

email messages posted by Krushnaji, Ash, Margarita and others who are

more learned than me! :)

I hope it will be a good information source for the lesser

astrologers like me.

Thanks & Regards,

Manu

Dear Manu -

Can't wait to play around with your new program. It looks like it will

really be a great addition to our totall overall efforts at refining a

software

program for KAS.

Thanks for all your efforts so far!

KAS software

05/13/1995 - ra/ju - 17.3113

10/06/1997 - ra/sa - 19.7124

Manu
