Dear Ramesh,

 

Krushna's Ashtakavarga System (KAS) is based on the concept of

upachaya houses. As per vedic astrology upachaya houses are 3rd, 6th,

10th, and 11th houses from a house. So, if you consider the ascendant

as House A. Then 3rd house becomes House D, 6th house becomes house

B, 10th house becomes house C and 11th house becomes house E.

 

Now, this was from ascendant as house A. Like this you can take any

of the 12 houses as house A, and you can determine the 3rd, 6th, 10th

and 11th houses from A as D, B, C, E respectively.

 

Lord's of these house are called LoA, LoB, LoC, LoD and LoE.

 

LoA is considered the Functional Karaka for House B results. It is

also the case that LoD and LoE are always eager to give the results

for House B. If you see most of the laws of KAS are hinged upon these

houses.
