I want to ask whether this Ashtakvarga system is same as KP or it is based on Vedic Jyotish?? I am a bbeginner and need some clarifications. Guest guest Posted December 10, 2004 Report Share Posted December 10, 2004 Dear Amit, Ashtakavarga is not the same as KP.I t is one of the methods used for assessing the strength of planets and bhavas,predicting certain eevnts and calculating longevitym Each planet passes on benefic rays from the houses they are placed as specified in Pnachangas and other astrology books.We have prepare a big working sheet and then calculate their totals which is known as Sarva Ashtakavarga. Then are two reductions to be applied. All these involve simple arithmetical calculations and is simple although a little laborious. I actually teach this as well as Shasbala calculations in our council. You can very well read B.V.Raman's book on Ashtakavarga. If you need further assistance I am available.I do not charge any fee.
