my situation

Respected Sir,

 

I want to ask you a question. It is a personal question. I am a graduate

student and working under a professor along with a post doc. Now this post doc.

is my immidiate boss and the professor is my super-boss.

 

Post doc. and Professor are not compatible with each other. Post doc thinks

that professor is a mean person and professor think that post doc is a mean

person.

 

This post doc., whenever an experiment is done, manipulate the data of the

experiment. I know this thing. But with post doc i have good relation, i also

have good relation with professor. Post doc invites me for dinner ( sort of

bribe), so that i could not tell the professor that he manipulates.

 

And i dont want to hurt him by telling the professor that he manipulates. But

if one day he got cought then that day i will also be consider responsible for

the fake results. I keep on telling him that you should not do this but he says,

" In this group, where the head ( professor) is a mean person you need to be a

mean person too. "

 

I am confused. Please tell me when there is such kind of situation then what

should a person do ?

 

And i can feel that i will face same kind of situation in my future life.

Although i am not a person who takes the bribe but i am surrounded by people who

take the bribes.

 

What should i do ?
