I have always wanted to have exhaustive discussion on this subject. Many times known events can be justified by many dashas ( KAS has narrowed it down). But certain features are very unique to particular lagnas or planets in lagna. Pithusaya, son of Varfahamihira had chaper on how each navamsha of lagna will change appearance.
