Guest guest
Dear group members The great Indian festival, called " Deepawali " is round-the-corner. It is the festival of lights and a occasion to worship Goddess Luxmi (Goddess of wealth and money). Deepawali would be celebrated on coming " Amavasya " (the last day of dark half of the Moon) on 28th October 2008 (Tuesday). Every devout Hindu would be worshipping Goddess Luxmi on 28th october 2008 and would be praying her to bestow her blessing on his/her family in the coming year and bring prosperity in their lives. As the matter is related to the Goddess of " Wealth " and " Money " , the most desired objects in today's materialistic world, everybody is also very concerned that Goddess Luxmi should be worshipped in most appropriate manner and at most appropriate time (in " Shubh muhurta " or " auspicious muhurta " ). All regional language newspapers and TV-channels would be publishing/telecasing timings of " Shubh muhurta for Deepawali pujan " calculated by their own panel of astrologers. The conflict in their timings would add to the woes of common man who is eager to know the best auspicious time to worship Goddess Luxmi. He will run from one astrologer to another, and in the process would get more confused. There are different types of Muhurtas on this very important day for different purposes. However, for a common man, basic principles of finding the auspicious muhurta are as follows: 1. It should be within a " Fixed ascendant " ( " Sthira-lagna " ). The fixed ascendants are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. A person with little knowledge of astrology and access to any astrology software can easily find out the duration of a fixed ascendant for his current location. 2. It should be an auspicious " Chaughadia " . The " Amrit " , " Shubh " and " Laabh " are Good (favourable) Chaughadiyas. The " Chara " is a Medium Chaughadia. The " Udwega', " Roga " and " Kaala " are Bad (unfavourable) Chaughadiyas. Goddess Luxmi should be worshipped in " Amrit " , " Shubh " or " Laabh " chaughadias only. The best muhurta would be the time when there is a fixed ascendant and a good chaughadia, both smulateneously running. The muhurta timings would, of-course, differ according to geo-graphical coordinates of the place. Exact Chaughadia timings for any place on this earth may be known through free astro-utility provided in astrology software " Vjyotish-exl " .
