Dear Ash, for a person born in Chicago, Illinois, which +6.00 time zone has to be used? CST or MDT? for a person born on the 13th Dec, 1980 at 5.41Hrs at Chicago, IL, when we use +6.00 CST the lagna shows 9 Sc 0 deg whereas for +6.00 MDT it shows 20 Sc 11 degs. also the navamsa shows differs with kanya for the first one and makar for the second one. which one is right to use in this case. also change in lagna does matter but only when we see the lordships in the amsa charts too, i guess. your comments will be appreciated on which one to use for her. i have a feeling the CST is the right one in this case as the navamsa lagna is kanya. correct me if i am wrong on this. cheers! mahalakshmi

Dear Ash,

thank you for this clarification. yes there's no daylight savings

in this case as its a december birth in USA.

when we cast with the lahiri ayanamsa the lagna is at 8 Sc 15

therefore my premise was that with a small change in KAS ayanamsa it

should be close to 9 odd deg here hence my choice for CST +6.00 and

with no to DST.

I see a long list of time zones starting from +0.00 GMT which is

understandable to the birth taking place in and around UK where

greenwich time is set.

-1.00 BST, or +5.00 EST or any of those parameters, if a table is

given with places for using the particular parameters it will really

be helpful in not casting the chart itself wrong which is the basic

foundation for forecasting or beginning it right.

like for eg for india its -5.30 IST, and for each such parameter

that appears if the country is also indicated it would be lesser

confusion where casting charts are concerned.

hope this is taken in the right spirit.

members can then fill up the latitudes and longitudes using the help

from other atlases.

cheers!
