Dear Members,

It appears that KAS uses only seven vargas and still the method is termed Ashtakavarga. The term Sarvashtakavarga implies the sum of all the bindus of all the Ashtakavarga charts.

Dr B V Raman in his book "Ashtakavarga System of Prediction", IBH Prakshana, Bangalore, presents also the Ashtakavargas of Rahu.

While the auspicious places are reckoned from the seven planets and Lagna, there is no reckoning from Rahu himself.

The Sep. 1985 issue of the Astrological Magazine (Ed: Dr B V Raman) deals with the Ashtakavarga of Lagna.

If the benefic points of Lagna are also included, the total no. of bindus = 337+37 = 374.

Rahu adds 44 benefic points. So if Rahu is also included, the total no. of bindus = 374+44 = 418.

Has anybody of you done any research with Rahu and/ or Lagna also included ?

Dear Narayan ji,

If you are learning KAS, the first step is to keep your slate

clean.

We do not follow ashtakavarga of Ra, Ke

and Lagna in KAS.

The position of 7 planets w.r.t each other AND LAGNA makes it

8. Rahu and Ketu are not planets. They represent sign and nakshatra lords that

they are placed in. Similarly, Lagna is

not a planet however, Lagna is important as without lagna we will not be able

to identify the house i.e. for example if Guru is in 4th house (i.e.

w.r.t lagna) then it makes a fav yog

w.r.t lagna as the reference. In the

same way, Guru in 3rd house is not making good fav

yog w.r.t lagna.

Now we can only get 3rd house from the reference point of

Lagna.

So taking Ra, Ke and Lagna as

planets is not logical nor accurate.

In KAS system, all things are taken into account as this is

AN ENTIRE SYSTEM where Ashtakavarga is utilized to gauge power apart from other

things and using that we are using it in A SYSTEM for timing of events. This implies that we have concrete steps and

procedures and these procedures are repeatable in all charts.

So, again, I must emphasize that please keep your slate clean

and u will be able to grasp the concepts of KAS without any mixing of thoughts

and getting confused and confusing members here.

Cheers !!!
