The Lotus or Rose is a beautiful, gentle and centring practice. I

learnt one many years ago in Satyananda Yoga that's a bit similar

but a touch more abrasive (grizzly?).

Sitting with a very straight back, base chakra tensed, index

finger/thumb closed, visualise a copper trident (pitchfork) rising

vertically from the base chakra with prongs extending upwards,

prongs are very sharp. Gently induce the trident to rise several

times with the central prong piercing the crown chakra - sensitise

your awareness to where you actually feel the piercing almost as an

electric shock. As it pierces, repeat your affirmation eg.

God/Goddess is love. Sounds a bit like self-flogging as per Da Vinci

Code but can be very powerful !! I prefer the Lotus/Rose but

perhaps on occasions the trident approach gives a needed physical

form to the energy spike.

Chrism - I had my first snake vision just prior to waking this

morning. But far from being a voracious Indian cobra, it was a very

small, sleepy, grey snake coiled up by the side of a dusty road -

took no notice of me whatsoever.

Elektra - keep soaking up that enriching English peace. As an

Aussie, I was raised on it via many diverse classic pieces of

English literature. I don't think anyone who had the experience of

growing up in England could go without replenishment for too long.

Richard - great postings - I'm learning much from your healing

experiences and insights.

Love and best wishes to all - John R.
