Guest guest
Hey Ray - it is difficult to find it within ourselves to be grateful for the unpleasant things that happen. But a little easier to be grateful for the wisdom gained from those experiences. At this point, I am grateful for any day that does not involve a catastrophe! Pitiful, I know, but true. I think it is inevitable sometimes to react to certain situations as our parents would - it happens kind of like a reflex sometimes! Kind of like what my sisters and I call that " mom arm " that flies away from our bodies and smacks the passenger every time we have to stop fast. LOL! And then you go, " Ooooh - I don't know what made me do that. " Yep, those unconscious reactions just happen, whether we like it or not! But, one more thought that I think I picked up from " The Celestine Prophesy " and that is the realizations that our parents have strengths that we admire, as well. So what I did, was I thought about my parents traits one day, good and bad, and decided, " I'll take this one, throw out that one, etc. " It works except when you have to stop real fast.
