Guest guest
I have tried to follow the intellectual path for many years - reading and re-reading the teachings of Ramana Maharshi and Nisargadatta Maharaj. These say that identifying with ego, age, gender, social and wealth status are affectations and distractions. Role play as in " I am this and I am not that " obscures the TRUE self. Instead, through a process of continual denial, a vacuum can be opened to allow the blissful realisation that life is a " play of consciousness " and we can soak up circumstances and change as we experience free and spontaneous movements of energy and enjoy the intoxicating feeling of being able to effortlessly let go of our prejudices and judgements. My problem, like most other people's, is the plots and sub-plots of our lives, our irreversible relationships, our need for love, respect, food and shelter and the involuntary nature of body and mind feedback. However, I am SURE when commitments lessen the INTELLECTUAL path can be embraced as a very powerful, self-cleansing and life-transforming process. My feeling is that the forgiveness steps that precede Kundalini flow, prepare us for a neutral mindset that helps us to see beyond our circumstance-driven short-sightedness I must say however that the pathway of the heart, the Bhakti (or devotional approach) is, at this stage in my life, a lot more appealing.
