Yes but only when taken in high quantities. 500 mg is one capsule. It will make a person jittery and twitchy if more is taken on a consistent basis. It is not caffeine and is considered to be a health promoting adaptogen meaning it goes to where it is needed most in the body. Ginseng has been used for thousands of years by the Chinese medical community safely and effectively, there is very little risk of any problems with this root. 500 mgs should be ok if there is not a pre-existing B/P issue if there is half the dose or do not take it.
