Guest guest
Hello, I have a question that I'd really appreciate people's viewpoints on... I have been feeling a strong urge to seek out some kind of bodywork therapist. I know I have a lot of blockages stored between my heart and my throat and this reside mainly in muscles in my shoulders and neck and I feel that I need some help to release these as they are so present on a physical level and I can't seem to do much with them myself. (It is also part of my current process to try and connect more with people and communicate, rather than withdrawing) I just wondered if any one here has had experiences of bodywork whilst in activation. To be honest I am a little nervous of having strong reactions during the treatment and wondering what (if anything) to say to the therapist (and yes, some of this is an ego reaction to the idea of possibly looking like an idiot). I met a shiatsu therapist at the weekend and she said she worked as much with energies as physical manipulation which made me think she might be a good place to start, but I am now at one of those points where I am not sure if what holds me back from making an appointment is my own fear of releasing those blockages or because it isn't a good idea for me. Thank you from my heart, peace, Ruari
Guest guest
Yes, Part of this IS the ego holding on and manufacturing embarrassment and other scenarios for the maintenance of the status quo. No worries Ruari. There isn't a problem doing this. Have a massage or shiatsu or what your intuition tells you is appropriate. Don't go into the idea of Kundalini with the person though, (only a suggestion) as they are not (most likely) in it themselves and have (typically) the fear of it or the fluffy version of it neither of which is applicable. If you opt for a massage I would suggest deep tissue work. Something not quite into a " Rolfing " but a technique that will go deep and allow a re-distribution of locked up energies. I would avoid energy work though as you are doing fine. So no reiki or any other technique using " guides " or similar themes. - just my take on it -
Guest guest
Dear Ruari, The neck and shoulder place is the Trapecius muscle and they say there is the place we store our stress. That is the mirror of our Nervus system. I have sometimes stiff neck myself and 99,99% of my clients. What I have found helps me a lot is the meditation. Somewhere someone said- " ...where there is a tension, there is the mind held prisoner... " ) Yes, massage, shiatsu, acupressure do help and they are great if you are concerned on working on the reactions. As far as my humble opinion goes- the key is to see/work on what cause it. Physical therapy or healing in any form do help, however if the person dont find what the reson for the state is...the old patterns reinsert themselves at a later point. Just few thoughts on this. Namaste A. P.S. And get a massage booked ,it is great , " ruari_neill " <spirit wrote: > > Hello, > > I have a question that I'd really appreciate people's viewpoints on... > > I have been feeling a strong urge to seek out some kind of bodywork > therapist.
