Guest guest
Judy...I want to thank you for providing the name of the person responsible for the translation of the Lord's Prayer into English from Aramaic. I went to the bookstore today and looked for the book and was not able to find the one on prayers, but I did find " The Hidden Gospel...Decoding the Spiritual Message of the Aramaic Jesus " and will let you know more about it after I have finished reading it. It is also written by Neil Douglas-Klotz. When I arrived home and had a chance I looked up the information on the internet and as you said it was found at Amazon.com and I also was able to find it at Books-A-Million (Bamm.com) as well. As soon as I am close to finish reading this book, I plan to order some of Neil's other books. Chrism...Thanks for bringing this to my attention as it never really ever occurred to me the fact that the Bible was translated into modern English from other translations in other languages which in essense could change the original in so many ways even though I had learned while taking the religion course in college. I have to say that this particular translation brings so much more meaning and love to the Prayer...the beauty of it from start to finish and it only makes me want more translation of the Bible such as this piece. As with most anything, if it isn't time to understand it you won't, if it is you will. Once again thank you both for the information and as always I enjoy reading everyone's posts...as I am the wall flower at this time only observing, learning, and reading. Bless you all...Much Love and Peace, Katherine
