Dear members,

People have talked a lot about surrender ..from my observation i

feel that surrender is switching off the " I " ..not thoughtless . The

energy flows even if the thoughts come ....it stops or reduces only

if we use our " I " . " I " reacts ..then follows the

intellect " " AHH ,i'm meditating ..i should be thoughtless " . By

switching off this " I " , we will reach silence eventually.

I don't like to use the

terms ..Conscious,subconscious,subsuperconscious ..But " I " ,Intellect

and subconscious ..For humans ..i think that there is " I " ,

intellect and then subconscious.

Enlightened beings have no " I " i guess ..Just intellect and

subconscious...not an ordinary subconcious...thoughts won't come for

them from subconscious ..but they can use it certainly ..for

example.) if they meet their old friend ..they will able to

recognize him / her.

Just wanted to share.

Peace ,

Kousik.

Greetings Kousik, Everyone,

Interesting thoughts you posted.

For me:

Surrender is...being in the moment and Allowing, like water flowing

around a rock or better yet, floating in the water and Allowing the

current to take you along enjoying the scenery. A cousin to Surrender

might be Trust =)

Yeah , i agree with you .. " floating in the water " lol..perfect

one...but the " I " is the culprit here .. " I " thinks good about

itself ..or bad . " I " thinks that it's higher than others or

lower . " I " never knows that " high/low " itself is illusion . Many

people think that intellect is bad ..intellect is good

actually .Intellect knows that we are all pure being, pure bliss ,

pure nirvikalpa ..Intellect can analyze these things..but " I "

doesn't care about this ..it's more interested in showing it's ego.

Peace to you,

Kousik.

Greetings,

Here is another thought to add to this thread.

Surrender is...

...In the consuming state Beingness, the 'I Amness' goes into

oblivion, you forget yourSelf completely. The 'I Amness' ebbs and

flows, it's the focus that changes (for some), the focus such as the

difference between sleep and awakeness. The Absolute remains

unchanged. The Absolute is the whole, undifferentiated state that

transcends birth and death..this is the state of Beingness..there is

no 'I Amness' for there is no thought, no intellect, no consciousness

it is merely a state of Being.

I do love the analogy of water..

Floating in the water with no thinking of the Self..we become the

water *and* the wave, the raindrop *and* the ocean.

" The wave does not have to search for water, because water is the

very substance of the wave. "

Thich Nhat Hanh

when the fire is reflected in the water it is supremely tempting for

the water to believe it is actually the fire. however, when we remove

the fire from the water, there is nothing left for the water to

reflect, so it merely sees its own formlessness and nonentity.

Another thought:

Brahman (Absolute) might be visualized as sunlight upon the surface of

a lake....You can attain knowledge of Brahman through reflection on its

attributes. However the reflection is not the sun itself for the sun is

in the sky from which the sunlight emits from.

" ..seeing the reflection of the sun one does not have the knowledge of

its being in the east or the west, in the same way by realising Brabman

in the heart one does not realise the all pervasiveness of Brahman.. "
