Guest guest
I think that words tell us a lot more than we realize. For example, drunkeness is mostly referred to with colorful animal epithets and references to bodily functions, while the cocaine user or pot-smoker is getting " high " , and the psychedelics user is " tripping-out " / " spaced-out " ... hypnotic subjects often refer to the gradual inducement of trance as 'going down' and a common technique of self-hypnosis is the visual aid of descending a cave, stairway etc. exercises for AP/OOBE often involve sensation or visualization of levitation or rising 'up' out of the body, etc... we could go on, and actually I find it interesting how we associate these things - perhaps others here have some thoughts in this direction? personally I'm a student of Western esotericism, where psychic phenomena are viewed as sub- or infra-conscious, however enthralling or intriguing they might be in an experiential context. this will necessarily bias my perspective. > And the word " super " means very large, as > in when we are fully connected (and aware of it) to > the great internet in the sky. being connected to " the internet " gives us no more and no less than the ability to shovel energy down a pipeline or receive from it, but the pipeline itself doesn't care what information it's conveying with that energy, only that it doesn't overload itself by transmitting too much too fast. words can be transmitted quite efficiently even across a slow connection, while receiving images, or fullblown streaming audio/video is quite taxing on even a fast connection. > So, thanks for the feedback, but have to say don't > nessecarily agree with you on that one. you're of course free to disagree; I'm no longer looking for converts to my philosophy nor infidels to convert to the One True Way :-) I agree that psychic phenomena are 'different' than normal consciousness but personally believe that yet-superior states exist, but only potentially, whether in a human or in a cat. -brian
Guest guest
yes, true, but words can often be mis enterpreted (or more realistically, interpreted through a personal filter) and can often lead to confusion in the correct meaning. I do this alot I think, especially via the internet as it is not spoken. I have a pet frustration or " samskara " (is this correct use of the word?) about miscommunication, It's a pet hate. I think I live in China to help me get over that one. It's like words get in the way sometimes as they don't encompass enough. I like dreams very much as they speak more in symbols, this resonates alot with me. But, that being said, I do enjoy learning about myself and others via the use of words over the net. Thankyou Brian as always, Love and blessings Elektra miaow..... ppprrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr --- a_seventh_son <a_seventh_son wrote: > I think that words tell us a lot more than we > realize.
