Guest guest
Hello group, I am still here. Quietly on the sidelines for now but keeping up with all the posts. I am excited about the shaktipat this week. Is it normal to also feel nervous? I took a nap earlier in my bed and in my dream I left my body, but when I returned I didn'y quiet fit back and it felt like someone was at my feet shaking me very hard. The whole bed was rattling. I was wondering does anybody know if you really actually do shake (physically) or is it just part of a dream? xoxo yoga.lisa
Guest guest
Hello Lisa - You will shake physically and spiritually, but there is no need for fear. This is a gentle Shaktipat and you may feel some tingling at the base of your spine. Please look at balancing your emotions Lisa. Forgiveness will really smooth the way though at first the3e shaking and the the wild temperatures and all the "phenomena" can be very surprising, but because you "know" what is causing this - no fear. - /
Guest guest
Chrism, as you must know, I am a very emotional person. I am not quiet clear on how to balance my emotions. What is it I am supposed to feel, if not emotions. The word balance sounds wonderful to me after being on emotional roller coasters for 38 years. How do I get there. xoxo yoga.lisachrism <> wrote: Hello Lisa - You will shake physically and spiritually, but there is no need for fear. Guest guest
Hi Lisa, Balancing your emotions is very important at this stage, since the K can amplify them considerably--for better or for worse. Practicing emotional hygiene is strongly recommended for those on the spiritual path. To put it crudely, emotional hygiene consists in developing an internal " witness " that constantly assesses one's own thoughts and emotions and considers their ramifications. While the witness will allow your (lower) self to engage useful emotions and thoughts, it will help you discard those emotions it marks as " useless " . The key here is not to fight negative emotions (that would be still a way of engaging them and creating attachment), but to let them roll away from you peacefully (I like to visualize the negative emotions as drops of dirty water rolling down on my raincoat, but you may want to create your own imagery). Believe me: there is a lot of freedom to be had in keeping a balanced mind, and developing the witness is not that hard. Just like with anything else, it's all a matter of practice...
