With all respect to all of you guys...Maybe I'm just stupid?

I've been listening to my Zen instructors (and all of the other

Yogis and Gurus) and I still wonder about ego definitions and

explainations.

What you (and they) say makes sense in some ways...

But, I have seen rabbits have intercourse until they (or their mate)

die.

I see all types of animals try to kill for sex, food or territory...

I have spent my life observing humans and other animals in action...

The main difference in human nature and the other species?

I haven't seen much.

Humans have more interesting mass destructive war tools.

Humans have TV/computers/newspapers/radio and Jerry Springer.

But, from what I see; we all act about the same.

I'm as close to my Parrot as I am with my other Kids (except the

Parrot thinks I have a slight language barrier).

Personality? Desire?

I see that desire comes from the way we are programmed by

environment and genetic memory.

I'm not arguing any point, but I feel that if I lost all ego I would

starve to death as I lay in a pile of my own waste...

So, how much self are we supposed to let go of????

Like I said, I've been around over a half century and this one still

does not register!

Make me understand losing ego-- and you may get the Noble Peace

Prize for " Instructing (very) slow learners in esoteric thought " .

Peace!

:) :)
