Guest guest
with that 'crystal set' analogy, a lot is being implied that could be of considerable interest to anyone with eyes to see. enough analogies out there, in fact, to make me regret not taking up an electronics engineering degree, it would have helped me understand what was going on, in many ways, at a much earlier time. as opposed to instead struggling through Western philosophy and computer science, both of which lack the 'grounding' of material-based sciences, and seem to end in questions rather than answers. also, don't forget the ceramic element in a piezo buzzer, which produces a tone when alternating current is passed along it... another device worthy of some thought. I may just have to pick up a cheap wristwatch; strangely I noticed a more pronounced 'time distortion' effect more with the expensive Bulova than less-costly timepieces. I have no idea why that would be the case though, I'm not privvy to their design practices or materials sources, but did find this bit of marketing: " A new era in timekeeping dawned in the 1950s. Through persistent and dedicated research, Bulova developed Accutron, the first electronic watch. Keeping time to within two seconds a day, it was the first breakthrough in timekeeping technology in over 300 years. " [http://www.bulova.com/about/about.aspx] During this period of time I was using a light-and-sound device fairly regularly, mostly on deep theta-high delta programs, and am sure this also could have contributed to the occurences. thanks, -Brian > Hello Brian, > Yes thank you for bringing up the " crystal receiver " radio set. Guest guest
I have a small devise for relieving pain that has something strike a quartz crystal inside and create a spark as you hold the devise against the part of yourself that is in pain. It works quite well for me and, of course, never needs batteries!
