Guest guest
I just found an intriguing article at http://www.gardenof-eden.com/arc_of_the_covenant.htm Franky, I am usually wary of pseudo-scientific claims used to justify spiritual realities, and I certainly question the author's use of the National Geographic as a reference (this kind of sloppiness is exactly what gives New Agers the reputation of being quacks). On the other hand, however, I also find the argument quite intriguing: due to its physiology, our cranium could be the arc of the covenant mentioned in the Bible. Personally, the shape of the sphenoid bone reminds me of the wings I often see during meditation. These could also be the wings of the caduceus, which are usually taken to mean " ascension " ? What if these wings meant " cranium " instead? Or both? I read somewhere that deep meditation experiences take one's awareness to different places inside the physical body. On some level, this sounds quite possible. Bottom line: is mysticism a journey inside the human body? I would love to hear what you all think.
