Hi, Kat! Glad you enjoyed my Easter tale...it was

definitely one of those 'zen moments!' I feel your

compassion for the pelican...I, too, wish I could take

in all needy animals. We have a stray kitten now that

is hanging around our front porch. She is so

cute...the tiger markings and yellow eyes to match.

But I have 4 cats already, and she is wild and has

been agressive with my cats, even though she's much

smaller. And, she is unapproachable. I have tried to

get near her and she will have nothing of it.

I would love to adopt her, but she is wild. She has

probably always been living free, the product of an

irresponsible owner who most likely owned her mother

and did not have her spayed; now her babies are

wandering the neighborhood searching for food. My

heart breaks for her, but there is nothing I can do

for her. If I feed her, she will hang around, fight

with my 4 cats, whom I have had spayed/neutered and

innoculated properly; plus, when she matures, she will

inevitably get pregnant and then I would have all of

her babies hanging around wanting food.

Very sad.

I will end this post on a higher note; you mentioned

enjoying watching the dolphins play...I do, too, and

get many opportunities living here on the GA

coast...whenever my husband and I go to the beach, we

spot dolphins not far off shore. I saw a cartoon in

The New Yorker recently showing two dophins swimming

along and one was saying to the other: " My only wish

before I die is to swim with a middle-aged couple from

Connecticut. "

Blessings & love,

Claudia
