Guest guest
well i am really happy so far !i can feel an increased relaxation between the shoulder blades which in addition to the neck have always been sticky during yoga.I feel quite warm at times but apart from the ongoing feeling that my right ear and behind the nose is a bit blocky energetically speaking im doing ok with the slight exception of one or two odd feelings of irritation with my long suffering husband . I must say that the Iyengar yoga instructions for down and up dog as also mentioned in the tibetans are detailed and may be helpful for some here . For instance feet must point in slightly or straight forward to avoid lower back pinching and some benefit from blocks under hands or feet depending on your restriction. Also after those moves im trained to go forward with backside on heels and arms out to relax the back again .Also after doing the tibetans going onto corpse pose to let things settle or flat on back with legs on chair if legs cannot relax flat does make strain less likely . My yoga teacher is skilled at helping classes of slightly overweight or injured ladies to reclaim flexibility and we use lots of props like chairs and blocks .I can pass on lots of tips if requested...i suppose usual caveats apply to the tibetans like if it hurts sharply its wrong but if its a slight ache its good for you ! Never rush as the body needs to learn internally what you are asking it to do and not only that a stressed body sometimes fights back by causing panic reactions..well mine does most certainly !! Thank you for the suport offered here .I would like to do anything i can to help .Im a little wary of sending mixed or huge energy bags to sick people as sometimes what is needed is release of energy from congested areas in order for the person to be able to heal themself .For this reason i tend to send love and the desire a person be able to heal in the way most suitable for them .Sometimes all is needed is opening the drains so to speak !If anyone is willing im happy to demonstate if chrism would like me to later .If you push against blocks they solidify but if you gently stroke them as in some massage much can be achieved through power rather than force ...thats just my opinion of course and im not saying that a dose of energy is not ideal for some who do need just that . I just have this glorious hope that love is the answer to most problems ! love elizabeth
Guest guest
Hi Elizabeth! So glad to hear that your journey is going well. I would be interested in modifications to the exercises. I can't do them because of my residual injuries from a car accident. My left shoulder is very weak and I do not have full range of motion in it, I have two protruding discs in my C spine and the pain goes to the left side of my neck and I had a hip/lumbar fracture which is tender. Any suggestions you might have would be much appreciated as I would like to be able to participate in the exercises. Guest guest
Sarita, God Bless you for your wanting to find alternatives. I don't know if you know this or not, but on the web site that is listed under the links section on the group site there are exercises that help strengthen and prepare you for doing the Tibetans. Just thought I would let you know, if you haven't seen it you might be interested in it! If this is too much I hope some one will be able to guide you until the day your body is able to do the exercises. I will add you to my prayer list for healing and God Bless you Sarita. You are a wonderful person and may you continue onward. Love, Katherine Sarita <sarita1969 wrote: Hi Elizabeth! So glad to hear that your journey is going well. Guest guest
Thank you Katherine! Actually I did come across that info today and I am going to see what I can do. I still think I will have trouble with #5 even with the alternate because you end up in the same position and I don't know if I can sustain that. But I will give it a whirl and see. Thanks for being such a blessing! Sarita , Katherine Miller <katsam19 wrote: > > Sarita, > > God Bless you for your wanting to find alternatives.
