Guest guest
I just remembered this. On Easter, we were at my MIL's house for dinner. She has a piano and my daughter (who is 2) wandered over and wanted to sit on the bench. We put her up there and then a funny thing happened. She sat up real straight and placed both hands on the keys with her fingers open like she was about to just start playing! Most kids would just pick with one or two fingers. It was as if she had played before and knew the placement of the hands. She has never seen anyone play the piano before. Isn't that cool? Guest guest
She's been listening to Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven since she was born! She also loves Josh Groban and won't go to sleep unless I play him at night. The kid has rhythm too! Loves to dance to anything. I will try to encourage her musical tendencies. Guest guest
Hi Sarita, Your daughter is going to grow up to be a very intelligent kid. I learned from an old co worker of mine that her daughter listened to classical music when she was still a baby and now she is more advanced compared to other kids her age - she's a fast learner and learned to read earlier than most kids. She gets bored easily and thinks their class lessons/activities are too easy for her, so her teacher keeps on advancing her to higher level activities. She still remembers listening to classical music as a baby. Thats so cool! You must be proud. Guest guest
Hi Anne! She most definately has an old soul, no doubt about that. I am very proud of her, although I think that is a prerequisite of motherhood. She is VERY smart and learns things faster than I can believe. She knows all her letters,1-10 and loves to get on my computer in Word and type all the letters. She calls the lower case " baby " letters and has learned all those already too. I already have problems with boredom with her. She goes through new things like gangbusters and is looking for something new to do! I think much of the intelligence of a child is built when they are young. A lot depends on the attitude of the parents too. We talk to her like she is older and allow her to make decisions for herself as much as possible. She steps up to the plate most of the time. I anticipate having problems if she goes to public school. I am hoping that my situation will change so that I might send her to a private school or one of the charter schools that cater to kids where they are mentally rather than agewise.
