Guest guest
I just can't understand how it can be wrong to ask for what you need in life, maybe it's cultural but my happiness comes first, no one needs to be a martyr. I think that is a very great lesson to learn, when we don't speak our true feelings or stand up for what we need it drains us and makes us sick and tired. I'm very much one for self preservation, look after yourself, only then can you look after others. don't live your life by someone elses rules and don't bow down and make yourself unhappy. Some times tough love is good. Families can be masters at emotional blackmail, it just won't wash with me. Sounds harsh, but it's just being strong for myself. Society has taught us that emotional blackmail is somehow OK and a normal way to exist within the family unit. I strongly disagree. If a friend did it to me, I wouldn't stand for it, same goes for family.
