Guest guest
I love the things everyone shares as they go through this experience, the little everyday miracles, the " phenomenon " , the trials. Today, I have something--actually 3 somethings. We went on a little hike locally to a desert mountain preserve, sort of in the middle of the city. I had a hiking stick with me that has a strap that goes around your wrist. I felt something tickling me under there and stopped, moved the strap away and there was a bee!!! I nearly freaked! And it flew away without stinging me! I'm still amazed. It had to be trapped between my wrist and the strap for about 2 mins. before I thought I'd better look at what that tickling sensation was. Then about an hour later, I hear a buzzing sound all around me. It went on for a bit, then down in a wash, it got closer and I saw bees going this way and that way in all directions, luckily over my head but there was definitely a hive there somewhere. Then at home, later, I'm out in my garden just picking things up tidying up. And Whirr- whirr behind my head. I look and a hummingbird is checking me out! I freeze and it hovers over me then it circles around my head 3 times and I kid you not it was only about 3 inches from my face. I held my breath till it was done checking me out then it flew up to some distance stayed a second then buzzed off out of sight. Is that cool or what? Little miracles! Guest guest
Not many days ago, as I was getting out of the shower, I noticed that I'd stepped on something 'crunchy'... assuming it was refuse of some kind, I looked down and was startled to see that I'd in fact stepped right on top of a large wasp. Somehow I had not (yet) been stung. The natural response would probably be to scream or panic, as standing nude in a small bathroom there are not a great deal of options! But strangely, I felt terribly sad, and actually said " Oh, I'm sorry! " as it sat there right in front of me on the bath mat, and I looked for signs of life; its wings started to move a bit and it scurried away underneath a cabinet. I have not seen it since (it may well have died, who knows). At any rate, it was a strange event I'd nearly forgotten about until I saw your post. -brian > Today, I have something--actually 3 somethings. Guest guest
That's wonderful Valarie! It also helps bring into focus something that happened to me last week. At the back door of where I work were dozens of bumble bees! As the week went on more and more showed up. I just thought it was a strange incident, but now I am beginning to think it had to do with me. There was also a squirrel on my back porch like in a dream I had a few weeks ago. It seemed friendly and on the tame side. It took it's time leaving when I came out. Guest guest
Wow, that is wonderful...and it reminded me that yesterday I was sitting at my computer looking out of my window and a big, plump bumblebee was outside, 4 stories up, on my balcony flying around for about 20 minutes. And last night, I had a dream about a hummingbird. Wild world.
