I know just how you feel, Tara! At first I felt

guilty about praying to Shakti because I've always

prayed to God and, raised in the Christian tradition,

I've been taught that I shouldn't have any other

'gods.' But I'm more comfortable now that I've done

it for a while. I pray to both God and Shakti

together.

Before long, it will be second nature to you, Tara!

Blessings & love,

Claudia

I still have a problem with it! I can't get over that yet. I do

thank Shakti, but I have a problem praying to her. It was drummed

into my head not to pray to other Gods. You can take the girl out of

relgion, but it is hard to take the religious learnings out of the

girl...

I have problems with it, as well. Big time! I was not one to even

pray to Mary. Even Jesus, I call on him name in times of stress, but

when I pray it's only to God the Father, which I think of as the

source of All.

Hey guys,

I catch myself calling on Jesus the Christ during times of stress a

little too often myself... Lol. (not sure if that is what you meant CC,

but i got a good giggle.) I say sorry afterwards though... I bet Jesus

gets a chuckle now and then out of it.

For me, I came from a Christian upbringing too. But I feel comfortable

now knowing/believing that we are all part of God, all one. So praying

to any one aspect of God is essentially the same. It's all God, we are

all expressions of God. It's all good!

Also I am in grateful appreciation for information offered by Chrism,

others in the group and other sources that allow me to use my

discretion. It's not very often that a representative of a Church gets

up and says " Today I'll share with you some information, but please use

your discretion and discard what doesn't work for you. " For the most

part it's been " Today I will tell you what you need to know to get to

heaven because we are the gatekeepers and you have to follow our rules

and go through us or burn baby burn... " (I'm just kidding a bit here to

make a point. I know it's not that harsh, but a subtle control or

infulence can be programmed into us.)

So please keep your free will and individual discernment active

everyone! Even in Church!

Grapefully yours,

bradly

LOL! Bradly, your reponse gave me a good giggle, too. I think you

were meaning in a slang way, the way my husband does it. Right?

Hehe! That isn't quite what I meant. :) It's just that Jesus himself

taught that we are to go directly to the " Father which art in Heaven "

when we pray. After all the veil to the temple's Holy of Holy's was

ripped from top to bottom, so that man no longer has to have a

priestly mediator to reach the heart of God. I am so grateful for

that! Nothing can get lost in the translation that way.

I know this may sound like I am a crazy nutcase, but I believe the

being who was Jesus was/is my guide, either that or my guide is a

good impersonator of the being who is Jesus. If that were so then it

would mean he is a false guide and I can't believe that for one

second. That is why I call upon him in times of stress.

I don't care if I am a nutcase or not, it's been great having him as

my guide whether it is really real or not. LOL!

I will try and see if my mind can wrapped around the concept to be

able to handle the Shati prayer as a mantra. That may help. But

really since Shati is the feminine God part of us and Shiva the male

part. One could look at Jesus...symbolicly being the son (God

manifested in physical human form with Shati and Shiva in

balance/combimed as one), he would be the one perfect being that we

all are a part of. Hehe! Wouldn't we be praying to ourselves? Did my

mind wrap too far?

Blessings

Tara, I think most of us may have had this problem because most of us have been

raised Christian and all have been taught the same thing. I pray to both and

like Claudia said the more you do it the more comfortable you become with it.

You are going to be fine with it! Slow and easy! A lot of adjustments needed,

surrender is the key! Smiles!

Love,

Katherine
