Guest guest
Thanks for describing it so well, Chris. There seems to be also a bright white light with a violet or lavender hue (sometimes when I meditate with my eyes closed it's as if somebody had switched on a light in the room). I am not sure if the light comes from within the cranium (the pineal gland perhaps?) or from above--or perhaps both. The tingling is often more intense on one temple, which seems to be related to the alternance of ida and pingala (lunar and solar currents), and it concentrates on the fountanelle, right at the top of the cranium. It's as if somebody were tapping it gently, or touching it with a feather. Often opening the crown feels like wearing a tall hat, like one of those things bishops and popes wear. With time, the hat grows taller, and becomes a pillar of light. The pillar often has a V-shaped something around it, like a fan originating from the top of the head and extending into the universe. And then there are two orbs of light, which may or may not be connected to the ida and the pingala (I honestly don't know) and the V-shaped fan. They float on each side, about a feet or so away from the body, usually a tad above the eyes or the top of the head. I see them fairly often, but don't know what they are. Another orb of light seems to be floating above the head, pretty much at all times (not just meditation). I have seen this on other people as well, and several have told me that they see it, too. I don't know if it is the crown chakra or something else. Another symptom that I noticed in my early K days is a funnel of sticky energy originating from my head. When I plunge my hands into this funnel, the energy sticks to my arms, and then crawls into my heart, giving me an intense bliss. Last but not least, when the crown opens with full force it exerts a strong attraction that affects the physical body as well. I have experienced it as an upward pull on my upper body accompanied by spontaneous yogic mudras, but have also seen it happen to various degrees to people when I give them energy healings. Some of this phenomenology is (barely) hinted to in yogic literature, but I haven't found any thorough description and explanation anywhere. Most new age texts on subtle physiology only describe the usual 7 chakra system--but there is so much more that needs to be explored!
