Forgiving strangers - too easy! - Elektra/Glen

Isn't that because you love your friend/family member,

therefore the pain is greater...and therefore the pain

harder to let go of? And you expect more of someone

you love, which again makes the hurt they caused

greater and forgiveness more of a hurdle? You don't

care about an enemy, therefore the forgiveness is

little more than an acknowledgement that the hurt they

caused is so small as to not really matter.

It is directly reflected in the Buddhist philosophy of attachment

being the cause behind all pain and suffering. And that includes our

attachment of friends and family. The greater the attachment the more

pain and despair may be manifested. We live in a dualistic world - it

is also true we forgive to the extent we love. imho.
