Guest guest
I have spent the last several days volunteering for our Vacation Bible School at church and it was quite an experience. Because it is a church for the military there are different services, Protestant and Catholic. The Protestant is actually a multi-denominational service or non-denominational service depending on how you want to look at it. Anyway, all members of the two groups came together to have the VBS for the kids. Being new to this particular church I could since a bit of animosity between them. I prayed that it all come together for the sake of the children which it did, but you could tell that the adults seemed not to desire intermingling with those of the other religions. I stepped in and went to work not caring who was who. I was myself radiating out to whoever needed positive energy. Even though it took a lot out of me energy wise, it was well worth it. I was in charge of the `market place' that had about 99% Catholic youth members as shop keepers (I attend the Protestant services), so at the beginning of each morning we gathered together with the children and sang and danced. We did simple Israelite dances with the groups we were with during the day. Because I was in charge of the market place, I sat, sang and danced with the Shop keepers and must admit I had a ton of fun although I hurt my leg somehow and now my knee is a bit swollen for some reason. As we gathered this morning to pray I announced I wouldn't be there tomorrow because of going out of town. At the end of the VBS one I was saying my goodbyes and one of the Catholics told me with tears in her eyes that she just wanted me to know that everyone of the Catholic members were so pleased and honored to have had me there with them and that I was an inspiration to all. She said all morning she kept being approached and being told the same thing and then she thanked me for being so kind and loving toward everyone. I in return thanked her and told her that it was an inspiring week for me to be able to work as a whole and enjoy it while I did it. I felt so wonderful because I knew that my energy of love and compassion that I radiated out to all had been beneficial to all. I learned a lesson that no matter what you can make a difference. I know that if it hadn't been for K and the energy I possess that I might not be there first of all, but also the energy so strong and vibrant might not exist. I thanked God, Jesus Christ and K everyday for allowing me to radiate my love and energy outward, and I called on them to be there with me and they were. I love THEM all. Just thought I would share. Oh, and if you don't mind can you please send some energy to my leg, actually my right knee! It is swollen, but have no idea what I have done to it. It would be appreciated.
