Guest guest
Greetings Blessed Group! I've always had a great deal of respect for all animals. Since I can remember I've never had a phobia about snakes like 99% of the people I have come in contact with. It seems in the U.S. south-east; the common way to greet a wild snake is with a sharp object or gun. This has always sickened me! My wife has only been with me for a little over 21 years, so I guess she is still getting to know me ... The other day she said: " Better be careful outside! " in a serious tone. Having not spotted any hostile alien aircraft in the sky, or armed marauders roaming the neighborhood recently, I innocently asked her: " Be careful of what?... " She went on to explain how a large black snake was 'hanging around' the tree at our front porch. I suppose this led her to fantasies of an impending deadly attack from the " killer serpent " . I was born in the 'Year of the Snake'- 1953. My dreams of a giant snake caused no fear, but heralded my involvement with the Kundalini last year. I told her " not to worry " and tried to educate her about the harmless " Black Rat Snake " . Yesterday I saw my snake friend lying along beside the garage door. I gently reassured him as I lifted up his 4 foot body. " I have someone I would like you to meet " , I told my reptile buddy. I called my wife. When she saw who I had brought to see her; to her credit she did not faint, curse or grab a weapon. I talked softly, the snake and my wife both stayed calm. This was a good moment in my life! Later as she and I talked about the snake, we recounted how the snake never once assumed the typical " defensive posture " during the whole ordeal. " He knew you weren't going to kill him " ; she said. This was a great insight into the " Oneness " I have explained to her. Maybe my wife IS getting to know me a little! .... SSssincerely, SSSssstephen C.

Guest guest
Thanks for sharing that Stephen, I do love to read true life stories. As a kid, my sister and I use to swim in the little creek close to our house. It was full of water moccasin. My brothers told us that they would not bite while in the water and we believed them. We swim right there in the water with them and when one would get a little close we would just shew it away with our hands. None of use ever got bit. LOL! When I was about 9 or 10 we came upon a black racer snake in the road and I guess we got a little to close and it took off after us and chased us down the road for quite a ways. LOL! We were a little afraid of those after that. Hehe! Mostly, I have never been afraid of snakes and find them really cool to watch out in the wild. Guest guest
CC, that is truly a funny story! I used to play in very deep mud puddles with my sister down by the railroad tracks not far from my home when we were young and surprisingly enough we never thought twice about them. We always played in the woods and never thought twice about them. Once when I was first married Frank (my husband) and I went to his sister's wedding. We stayed the night with his aunt at her boyfriend's house. He had a 6 month old python. Of course I wasn't afraid of the snake so I held it. Frank had gone to bed and I wanted to show him the snake so I went into the room to show him. The light was off and I didn't turn it on. I tapped him on the shoulder for him to look at the snake, yet I didn't say I had it. When he turned over he had moved more toward me so his face was in the face of the snake, and I must tell you I don't think I have ever seen him move so FAST as he did that night. He feel off the other side of the bed yelling at me to get the snake out of the room. Mind you he isn't afraid of them, so that is why it was so funny! Needless to say he didn't think it was funny! Anyway, thank you for sharing with us your story.
