Guest guest
I believe the people doing the ceremony are not aware of the meaning behind it but originally when it was put in place perhaps an intent was there. As I say though, this is not my belief just a story that many new age people believe. I was christened as a child and had a ceremony to reactivate my third eye. It is probably all just balony Hugs Elektra x x x _________ Answers - Got a question? Someone out there knows the answer. Guest guest
Hi Electra, There could be some truth in it. My question would be though, why would Jesus close down the third eye? Perhaps to do as Igor said of Ramakrishna. I believe Jesus' central teachings were far different than what has been portrayed in the bible (or at the very least masked - what was that quote of making two eyes one, or something similar), that Jesus was an esoteric master (Qigong/ Kundalini/ take your pick) and indeed a lot of his teachings seem to stem from Buddhist traditions so he may well have been aware of the chakras, from personal experience if nothing else. I would love to meet a catholic priest who was open-minded enough to have considered such things and who might have an enlightened view of Jesus Christ, but so far I have only been met with the standard dogma. Just my thoughts. Tom... , novalees <Novalees wrote: > > Never heard that one. Don't think they even recognize > the chakra system in their beliefs. Guest guest
Beloved Elektra, you got me thinking about this! Christenings, I think, are only done in the Sacramental Churches (like Catholics, Episcopalians, Anglicans...) I believe that it is just another channel of God's Grace, in which case if one is here for a certain mission the sacrament could indeed be used for such a thing, though the third eye would be closed by the Holy Spirit...not necessarily by the one performing the ceremony. My take!
